Jacie Sites & Celtic Air
"As Jacie's bow touched the strings I heard "true pitch" and performances that absolutely astounded me. i watched as her graceful fingers danced across the strings, as she artfully moved the bow, and I heard song after song played with soulful precision. The joy and emotion she felt as she played, clearly came through and touched my heart. She is truly phenomenal !"

It is my pleasure to recommend Celtic Air featuring the talents of fiddler/violinist Jacie Sites. In addition
to seeing them perform live, I have used Celtic Air as the opening act to two of the concerts for the
Teton Chamber Orchestra. They served as the opening act for our April 2007 concert with Tracy
Silverman and Phil Aaberg, and in October of 2007 for the Celtic supergroup, Solas. Their
performances have impressed our audiences as well as our guest artists.
Celtic Air performs a wide variety of fiddle-based music, from traditional Irish reels and jigs to a frenetic
version of Orange Blossom Special. Jacie Sites, accompanied by her husband Joe on guitar, himself
a national award-winning fiddler and guitarist, and a solid band consisting of bass, drums and
keyboards, captured the rapt attention of the audience and had them on their feet by the end of their
set. Jacie’s stage presence and musicality is very impressive and of the highest-caliber. They have
established themselves as one of the premiere ensembles in our region and are widely sought after for
concerts. They have a large following in our area that pulls from a widespread demographic of
musical tastes.

I would not hesitate to book Celtic Air featuring Jacie Sites and look forward having them as a featured
act for one of our concerts in the future. I believe that a concert by them will be a huge success and
would highly recommend them.

As Executive Director of the Idaho Falls Arts Council, I have presented world famous Celtic music acts ranging from The Chieftains and Eileen Ivers to Natalie MacMaster and Leahy. Yet here, in our very own community of Idaho Falls, reside two equally accomplished musicians, Joe and Jacie Sites, and their band Celtic Air. As you probably know, both Joe and Jacie are national fiddling champions, seasoned performers and music educators. They are professional, easy to work with and put on a wonderful performance.

Joe and Jacie have earned a large and devoted local following which, I predict, will soon become national as they perform at venues across the country. Indeed, the Idaho Falls Arts Council recently presented with our annual "Achievement in the Arts Award" for their outstanding contributions to the performing arts and music education for young people. On the subject of youth, they have an amazing ability to nurture and inspire young people to play instruments. They are capable of providing wonderful educational workshops in addition to their public performance.

I had the opportunity to listen to “Celtic Air” when they were the closing act on Saturday evening for us at the National Oldtime Fiddlers’ Contest in Weiser, ID in June of 2007. I rarely take the time to listen to the entertainers’ entire program but I made a point that evening of listening to “Celtic Air’s” entire performance. I must say that I was very impressed with their 20 to 30 minutes performance. The music was very enjoyable for not only its sake but it was a refreshing change of pace from the music that we had been listening to all week. This band played a variety of music in a very professionally manner. The National Oldtime Fiddle Contest stage is set up in the round. Everyone in the contest area felt that “Celtic Air” was playing just to them.

I am hopeful that this band will be able to join us again the summer of 2008 as our closing act on Saturday night.

Sincerely

Bruce R. Campbell, General Chairman
National Oldtime Fiddler’s Contest and Festival
